Finite Element Analysis
Carried out finite element analysis on a tandem bicycle model using the techniques learnt in our module, including mesh refinement and convergence, static studies, frequency studies and fatigue studies.
Carried out the same set of studies on three different variations of the model to find the optimum geometry and material of the frame.
Used Solidworks 2018 to make the 3D model of the bicycle and run all the studies.
After completing this project, I visited the Brompton Bicyles Factory with a group of classmates and our module leader to see first hand the industrial context of the techniques that we learnt and utilised in this project.
