WIND FARM LAYOUT OPTIMISATION
Building a model utilising the learnt techniques in our Optimisation module, our goal is to optimise the number of turbines and the energy extraction of a fixed size wind farm.
The model is based of the offshore Walney Wind Farm in the UK, and using the set attributes of that farm (such as average wind speed and radius of the turbines used), other factors such as the wake coefficient are being used to run the model with the outputs of minimum perpendicular and parallel distance between each turbine and the total number of turbines in the farm.
Group project with Joshua Moody and Sean B. Lutu.
